Monday is a day to Occupy Our Food Supply.
Why, yes. Let’s occupy our food supply. Factories have no business feeding us – that is a job for farmers. Real farmers who care for the land, care for the soil, care for the animals – and who deserve to hold an exalted position in society.
So, in honor of those farmers, I share this with you – perhaps you’ve already seen it. A Chipotle commercial, yes, but it makes the point so beautifully. And it moves me every time I watch it. Put it on full screen and crank up the volume.
Go hug a farmer. That’s your food supply.

This is one of my favorite videos of all time!!! Hug a farmer for sure!
Belinda – it is Molly, Patty and Brad’s friend. How funny to see you here on Bethesda Locavore, she is one of my friends too! Small world…much less than 6 degrees.
Awww, that made me tear up too. I hadn’t seen that before. Go Chipotle!
This is wonderful. I’m going to send it to my brothers-in-law and nephews, all of whom are farmers. (Corn farmers though — and after seeing King Corn am not so sure that’s such a good thing…).
Amazing how well that video puts the point across. Love it, and I love Chipotle! I just watched it 3 times with Celia and had a really interesting discussion with her. I wish it was so easy to go back to basics!
I hadn’t seen that video but I loved it. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to talk the other day, I’ve got a sheep farm story to tell you. Maybe next weekend?
